Hello.  On the bring of insanity...tried everything suggested here on the boards.  This issue happened overnight.  A hard reset fixed the issue the last time it happened.    

 

The laptop will charge when using the AC adapter (HP provided and branded) ONLY.  When using the USB C adapter for the HP docking station (HP USB-C Dock G5), the light is on, and the machine indicates that it is plugged in and charging.  HOWEVER, it does not charge while plugged in, and it bypasses the main power source (barrel AC adapter).  

 

All diagnostics have been run.  Hard reset at least 50 times.  Battery tests all passed and indicated as in good condition.  BIOS also updated and installed.  All firmware and drivers updated and installed.
