It's a brand new Pavilion Laptop Model # dm4-1162us
It was purchased from a Black Friday sale from Office Depot.
It's running Windows 7 Home Premium.
If I use an OEM USB to iPhone cable, my cell phone never charges.
I have the latest version of iTunes installed.
Any ideas how to fix this?

Hi,
Check below link to Apple article:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

My sister's having the exact same problem on her new laptop. I've tried the link and followed the troubleshooting guides, but it still doesn't work.
The iPhone works fine on other computers, just not on here. I've reinstalled the anti-virus and that hasn't worked. Firewall is giving iTunes full access as best I can tell. The iPhone is still not recognised, not even for charging.
Any other ideas?

Did you ever find a resolution for this? My HP is having the exact same problem: the USB doesn't charge the device, it isn't listed as a device in my Computer, and iTunes doesn't see the device either. My HP sees other apple devices such as an iPod and an iPad, so I don't understand what the issue is with my iPhone. The interesting thing is my computer bings when I plug in the USB, but nothing happens after that.
I, too, have tried every action recommended by Apple, including uninstalling my antivirus software and rebooting my machine with all non-microsoft services disabled. This appears to be an HP problem as my iPhone is recognized by my husband's Dell, but I'm also wondering if Verizon has some culpability??

For anyone having this problem... I was able to resolve this on my PC. I opened Devices and Printers and noticed that my iPhone was listed as an unknown device. I opened the device and saw that no driver was associated with the device. While it seems iTunes should automatically download the appropriate Apple Mobile driver, this had not happened on my PC for my iPhone. I searched for a driver using the Windows device options and successfully downloaded the driver. After that, my iPhone connected and was picked up by iTunes just fine.
Hopefully this helps someone!
