Hi:

See if this works...

Go to the device manager, and click on the unknown device needing the driver.

Click on the driver tab.   Click on Update Driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp58900.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.

Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file which shows driver support for the ID you posted...

; ========== Manufacturer/Models sections ===========
[Manufacturer]

[Validity.NTamd64]
%VfsUsbDeviceName003c%=Biometric_Install, USB\VID_138A&PID_003c

If that doesn't work either, try the W7 validity fingerprint sensor driver from your notebook's support page, under the keyboard and mouse drivers section.

Hi:

You need this driver for that device...

This package contains the driver that enables the Validity Fingerprint Sensor in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The fingerprint sensor scans fingerprints for use with biometric security applications.

You're very welcome.

If you plan on using the fingerprint sensor to log into Windows, you need to install this W10 HP Client Security Manager software.

HP Client Security Manager provides enhanced Windows login and website single-sign-on capabilities. Security Manager is also the host for HP Client Security plugins, and therefore should be installed before other Client Security modules. This package is provided for supported models running a supported operating system.
