Thank you for joining HP Forums.
I'll be glad to help you 🙂
As I understand you have an Error: 800F020B "Windows update ran into a problem",
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Are the USB ports still active or working?
Did you know that some of the causes to the error "800f020b" are:
- Corrupt system files
- Virus or malware infection
- Outdated hardware drivers
- Software conflict
While you respond to that, here's what I recommend you do:
Method 1: Install/Update Internet Explorer 11
1. Download and Install IE11 from this link: Click here
2. Try to search and install updates.
Method 2: Repair Windows System Files.
Open an elevated command prompt and execute the ‘sfc /scannow’ command to repair system files. To do that:
1. Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories.
2. Right-click at Command Prompt and click Run As Administrator.
Press Yes at ‘User Account Control’ (UAC) warning message.
3. In command prompt window type: sfc /scannow & press Enter.
4. Now, wait until the System File Checker repairs the Windows System Files.
5. Try to search and install updates.
Method 3: Run the Network Troubleshooter.
Here’s how:
- Right-click the network icon in the notification area and then select Troubleshoot problems.
- Follow the steps in the wizard to diagnose and resolve your network problems.
- Run Windows Update again.
After following above steps windows update error 800f020b, should be resolved.
Do get back to me as I have a few more tricks up my sleeve,
