Hi:
Download and install the W7 x64 AMD chipset drivers from the link below and restart the PC.

Interesting...
I've never come across that issue before.
See if this driver works instead...
This package provides the AMD USB 3.0 Driver for supported computer models that are running a supported operating system.

Hello first I want to tell you thank you for trying to help with this problem.
I have tried both packages with no luck. When I restart it says could not load driver file not found. Am I missing something or is this a lost cause?

Hi, Jim:
For some reason, your notebook is refusing to install the AMD USB 3 drivers automatically.
So, the next thing to try is to manually install the USB 3 drivers as follows.
Go to the device manager. Click on the USB controller needing the driver. There may be two of them so just pick one.
Click on the driver tab. Click on Update driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the HP driver folder that was created when you ran the file.
That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp72680.
Make sure the Include subfolders box is checked and see if the driver installs that way.
Then restart the PC.
If you still have the other USB controller device needing the driver, repeat the same steps.
