After updating the OS to version 24H2, one of the USB ports (the one that was always energized even if the PC was turned off) is not working anymore.

Hi @Jonali,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you have an issue with your USB port not working after updating your OS to Windows 11 version 24H2. I understand how frustrating this can be. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to help resolve this issue.

1. Check Power Management Settings:

Since the affected USB port was previously energized even when the PC was off, the update may have changed the power settings.

  • Right-click the Start button > Device Manager.
  • Expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
  • Right-click the affected USB Root Hub or USB device > Properties.
  • Go to the Power Management tab.
  • Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power."
  • Click OK and Restart your PC.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
