Hi @Juanita_S_2024 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing issues with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 All-In-One Printer and receiving the error message "Scanning Unavailable," there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

Check Connection:

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network. If you're using a USB connection, make sure the cable is securely plugged into both the printer and the computer. If you're using a wireless connection, check the printer's wireless settings and make sure it is connected to the same network as your computer.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off both your computer and the printer. After turning them off, wait for about 60 seconds, and then turn them back on. This can help refresh the connection and resolve temporary issues.

Update Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest drivers for your printer installed on your computer. Visit the official HP website and download the latest drivers for your printer model. Install the drivers and restart your computer.

Check for Software Conflicts:

  • Sometimes, other software on your computer may interfere with the scanning process. Temporarily disable any antivirus or firewall software and see if the issue persists. If the problem goes away, you may need to adjust the settings of your security software to allow scanning.

HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor, a diagnostic tool provided by HP. It can identify and automatically fix common printing and scanning problems. You can download it from the official HP support website.

Firmware Update:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Firmware updates can resolve known issues and improve the overall performance of the device. Visit the HP support website, enter your printer model, and look for firmware updates.

Check Scanner Settings:

  • Ensure that the scanning settings on your printer are configured correctly. Check the user manual for your printer for instructions on how to access and adjust scanning settings.

Reinstall Printer Software:

  • Uninstall the printer software from your computer, restart the computer, and then reinstall the latest version of the software from the official HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
