Hi;

I've purchased new pair of rams for my laptop. They are able to run at 5600mhz. But I've noticed their clock is set to 2800mhz via Hwinfo64 and I guess it cause overheat on processors. I want correct clock settings but I don't know how to reveal advanced bios settings.

Hi:

If you installed memory in matching capacities, it is running at the full 5600 MHz.

If you revisit the HWINFO app, look at the center of the summary report and it should indicate the memory is running in dual channel mode.

The 2800 memory is single channel mode, so you have to multiply 2800x2 to get the 5600.

if the center of the summary report indicated single channel mode, then the 2800 speed would be correct.

There is nothing wrong with your PC, not to mention the only settings you see in the BIOS are the only ones you can access.
