HP 2000-2B09WM
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

HI, i am attempting to update the BIOS on my HP 2000-2B09WM laptop.  The first time i ran the file everything worked correctly.  it asked if i wanted to create a partition incase something went wrong and it would be able to recover.  well i accepted and it created it and rebooted.  well it did not update and took me back into Windows 8.1.  I tried it again and it failed to create the recovery partition.  I tried deleting the partition and it still fails to make it.  Now i am at a loss and want to update the BIOS without having to use a USB if possible.  any ideas?  when it fails it just says "Create partition fail!".

Welcome to HP Support Forums. A really great platform for posting all your questions and finding solutions.

I understand that you are unable to update the BIOS

I'll try my best to help

I suggest you disable the Bitlocker and then try downloading the BIOS

Please follow the instructions in this Link: http://youtu.be/72uwa0OZPPw to update the BIOS using a Flash drive

Note: The same steps applies for Windows 10

You can also refer to the instructions in this Link: https://support.hp.com/sk-en/document/c00042629

So i decided to select the copy files to location and copied them to a folder on my desktop.  when i boot into the UEFI Hardware Diagnostics and select firmware management i go to the folder on the flash drive and there are two .bin files.  i have attached a picture of the files it extracted.  My question is which .bin file do i select to update the BIOS.explorer_2018-07-03_21-12-18.png
