How can I get the default setting to be Print One Sided. I don't know what might have happened but it automatically goes to print on both sides. Of course I don't remember to change it and waste a lot of paper and ink. Why can it not be at the print one sided as a default. It was when I first got the printer. Help

@emifin, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Setting Print One Sided as Default!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
To set your printer to print on one side as the default rather than automatically using the two-sided print option, follow these steps:
On Windows:
Open the Printer Properties:
- Go to the Start menu and select Settings.
- Click on Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select your printer from the list and click on Manage.
- Choose Printing preferences.
Change the Default Settings:
- In the Printing Preferences window, look for options related to "Duplex" or "Two-sided" printing.
- Set the option to Print One Sided.
- Click Apply or OK to save the changes.
On Mac:
Open System Preferences:
- Click on the Apple menu and select System Preferences.
- Choose Printers & Scanners.
Change Default Settings:
- Select your printer from the list on the left.
- Click on Options & Supplies.
- Go to the Driver tab.
- Look for the default settings and adjust to Single-sided printing.
For HP Printers Software:
Access HP Printer Assistant:
- Open HP Printer Assistant (you might find it through your printer software or by searching on your computer).
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
