Product: HP 250 G6 Notebook PC

Hi all. My issue is that I can't open documents through file explorer; can only open through excel and word icons on the task bar (desktop) I've followed advice: deleted unused apps. unpinned File explorer from task bar; checked for Updates. Any one have further advice?

From Explorer, right click the item and Select Open with  then keep it as default (always use this app)
