Hi @viveksharma,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're having trouble using the webcam on your HP 14-inch Laptop PC, here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Check Privacy Settings:
- Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera.
- Make sure the toggle for "Allow apps to access your camera" is turned on.
- Scroll down and ensure the app you're trying to use has camera access enabled.
Check Camera Access for Individual Apps:
- In the Camera settings, make sure that the app you're using (e.g., Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams) has permission to access the camera.
Update Camera Driver:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Cameras section.
- Right-click on your webcam and choose Update driver.
- Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
Reinstall the Camera Driver:
- In Device Manager, right-click on the webcam and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop; Windows should reinstall the driver automatically.
Run the Windows Camera Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
- Find and run the Camera troubleshooter.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click Check for updates and install any available updates.
Test the Camera:
- Open the Camera app (search for it in the Start menu) to see if the webcam is working.
Check for Third-Party Security Software:
- Some antivirus or privacy protection software may block the camera. Ensure that your security software is not restricting access.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
