I am trying to uninstall HP Wolf Security but get an error stating:

Uninstall of active HP Wolf Security not supported while other versions are installed. Please uninstall other versions first.

This is a brand-new laptop; I don't believe there are any other versions.Screenshot 2022-11-04 090426.png

Can anyone help please?

Thanks,

Stephen.

I have the same problem. Did you get an answer or did you find a solution to uninstall the program?

The resolution that worked for me was to open regedit to locate
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bromium\vSentry\

Under "vSentry" Multiple versions of Wolf will be listed

Modify each older version with "old" in front of the version

Example: old4.1.6.3285

But leave the newest entry alone

Example: 4.4.2.1075

Then the control panel uninstall works properly for "HP Wolf Security"

Thanks for the reply, i will try this if Wolf Security ever finds itself back on my laptop.

Sharing an update that from QTY 17 desktops I manage, QTY 3 gave the uninstall trouble where remaining HP Wolf uninstalled properly

Registry tweak worked on all 3 - no reboot needed after registry change - below is a screenshot

The source of the problem is "Hp Security Update Service" which auto applies Wolf Updates

If one attempts to uninstall HP Security Update Service or HP Wolf Security - Console, a different error appears

The specific order of uninstall matters:

1st: HP Wolf Security

2nd:Reboot Windows

3rd: HP Wolf Security - Console

4th: HP Security Update Service

5th: Reboot Windows

After the reboot, the "Bromium" registry key is fully removed thus my earlier registry tweaks for "old" are removed too

I hope others find my solution helpful as I feel bad for those performing a windows clean install to resolve
