can somebody please help me? its saying that i dont have any driver software for the Universal Serial Bus (USB) controller and ive already tried searching for a driver and cant find one.  i read another forum that said to change the device description to hardware IDs. can you please tell me what driver i need?

Is Windows 8.1 the original operating system? You can install the driver from the recovery flashdrive if it is.

 

That device is the usb 3.0 controller.

Do the usb 2.0 ports work?

 

You can get the usb driver direct from Intel.
