Many OEM BIOS's including HP do not allow changing anything that is grayed out or not there at all. For WinXP to recognize the SATA drives, you need the F6 install available for install.

See if that will work. However, there probably will be drivers that are not available, so look for them first and put on a separate media for installation, too. WinXP is not one of the OS's listed for that model , so good luck.

Hi "TheOldMan"
Thanks for prompt answer.
Unfortunately my laptop HP250 G4 do not have an OS so I could not go for steps in "Installation instructions for Intel Rapid Storage Technology (F6 Utility) driver TXT README" which by the waty seams not very easy for a non native english speaking man.
I have extracted 8m03nx32g01.exe in a folder in downloads and copy files in a simulated flopy using USB flash drive
Response : The file txtsetup.pem could not be found. Press any key to continue.
As per my english do I need to install first let's say W7 and install IRST first ? and after to go to install XP ?

I really DO NOT understand why HP does not give "Standard SATA AHCI Controller" drivers for my laptop or other laptops.
We already bought laptops so they already got their money !!!
Why they decide what software to use the client who bought it without software ?
The issue is very easy for them. To let us know how to unblock BIOS, to allow us to access advanced setting in this case
to access SATA settings

Unfortunately i do not live in USA. Otherwise I will go against them no matter the cost.
I did buy laptops(4) from a Romanian retailer that did not specified Windows XP can not be installed.
Based on a previous experience with Acer Aspire preinstalled with W7 and where I could downgrade to XP,
I did not pay attention to this issue.
I will greatly appreciate if someone can give me a contact to a very good law firm, to sue them for this unacceptable way to treat the buyers of their products.
IT IS NOT A MATTER OF THROWN MONEY, BOUGHT ONLY 4 PCS - IT IS A MATTER OF HOW THEY TRAT THE BUYERS.

While I have not actually done any of this, look here for the drivers to allow the SATA driver for WinXP install with the Intel chipset.
http://www.proposedsolution.com/solutions/how-to-find-your-sata-drivers/
I recall doing that but it had been too long ago. There was some WinXP install disks that had SP3 included and also had the SATA drives Incorporated.
BTW: You should be able to install Windows 7 on that PC. Why are you trying to install WinXP when Windows 7 will install with minimum problems?

Because I was stupid some time ago. I took pictures, video clips, most of family events with Camcorder Canon MV730i
and I did not realize in few years I will not be able to move them to PC.
Deh...I was thinking Canon is a reliable company.
First tryed to use camcorder function AV-DV, I did bought a 2 GB compatible one and I guess you know how easy is in 2017 to find a 2 GB SD card, but it works only for still pictures/photo images not tape movies to SD card.

I DID FIND MAY DRIBERS FOR DIFFERENT DEVICEs BUT NO FOR MINE !
IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers
- Standard SATA AHCI Controller
- Properties
- Details
Hardware Ids
there are 4 rows
bottom row PCI/VEN_8086&DEV_22A3&CC_0106
- could find many other numbers but this ...like being made by long lost aliens

Actually came across a comment about a similar situation of why the user wanted WinXP. Anyways, I found this thread concerning slipstreaming the driver to a WinXP install CD. While they are talking about a different model HP laptop, they are concerned about the Intel drivers, which is what I think you need. That Hardware ID you posted is Intel.
Read thru the thread. One of those should work for that laptop.
