Dear HP manufacturers,

I have been a costumer of HP laptops as far back in time as I can remember, ever since my mother gifted me a laptop back when I was a teenager. I love HP laptops and I haven’t considered switching to a different brand yet.

I am writing to express my concern about the recent trend of my laptops software updates. Since a couple months back, my laptop’s updates have been taking an extreme amount of time to finish (many times up to a TWO HOURS and a HALF) and I have to perform one update of this length at least ONCE A WEEK.

I conduct important work and college related tasks on my laptop, and I am finding that the updates are taking away too much useless time as far at it concerns my daily activities.

I am by no means saying that the software updates do not help my computer function better, but simply expressing the fact of the length and amount of updates.

I would like to know what further steps I can take to resolve this issue.

Would you be able to elaborate which updates you talk about ?

 

Updates from HP Support Assistant or the Windows 10 updates ?

 

 

If related to HP Support Assistant - you may uninstall the application if you want to - it is not mandatory to have it or keep it and your PC will function well even without it.

 

If related to Windows 10 updates - this is a concern you need to address to Microsoft. The entire Windows 10 as a service strategy is a madness in my personal opinion. Ever since the latest update for Windows 10 has been released [Fall Creators Update 1709 in late September], they have released 8 updates since them [8 updates for 4 months] >> https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4043454

 

Please, provide details on which updates you talk about and what is it that you update once every week ? Is it really every week ?
