Hi @Beng-A,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're having a rough time with upgrading to Windows 11. Here are a few steps to help resolve the issue.
Check Compatibility:
- Ensure your HP ENVY X360 - 13 meets all the Windows 11 system requirements. Check for TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot in the BIOS, as these are crucial for Windows 11.
Windows Update Troubleshooter:
- Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter to identify and fix any issues with the update process. You can find this under Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
Clean Boot:
- Perform a clean boot to ensure no third-party software or services are interfering with the upgrade process. You can find instructions for a clean boot on Microsoft's support site.
Check for Software Conflicts:
- Uninstall any third-party antivirus or security software temporarily, as these can sometimes interfere with the upgrade process.
Manual Installation:
- Use the Windows 11 Installation Assistant or create a bootable USB drive with the Media Creation Tool to perform the upgrade manually.
Backup Data:
- Before attempting another upgrade, back up your important files to avoid data loss if something goes wrong.
Check Logs:
- Review the Windows Update logs for specific error codes. You can find these in the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS or by using the Event Viewer.
Perform an In-Place Upgrade:
- If the above steps don't resolve the issue, you might consider performing an in-place upgrade by downloading the Windows 11 ISO and running the setup.exe file from within Windows 10. This should give you the option to choose what to keep.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
