Hello,

I am new to Chromebooks and have loved everything about them. However, I cant seem to figure out how to upload pictures from my camera to my Chromebook.

I have a Canon Powershot SD 790 IS. When I plug the camera in, nothing shows up in "Files" like I have read in other forums. I have turned the camera on and off while plugged in and have also tried turning it on before plugging it in, but nothing pops up.

On my PC, when I plug in my camera, I just have to press a button that allows you to view the pics without turning on the whole camera, and then it begins to upload the pictures to the PC.

I've tried all 3 USB ports thinking maybe I had it in one that didnt recognize my camera, but no matter which one it is plugged into, nothing pops up in "FIles" recongnizing my camera.

Is there something I am not doing that I should be doing? Or should I look somewhere else to see if the Chromebook is even recognizing my camera?

Thanks

Hey kvnniv,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I am glad to hear that you are loving your new Chromebook! 🙂

You do have a couple of option to try, and see if you can load your pictures onto your Chromebook 13 directly from your camera. Normally, the Chromebook does not accept cameras this way.

1. See if your camera has a mass storage mode, as you may have to manually copy the pictures over to your Chromebook.
2. Another option is if your camera does have an SD card, you could remove it from your camera, and insert it into the Chromebook,
3. The last option would be contact Canon to see if they have available software for Chromebooks.

Please let me know if any of these options do work for you.

Best of Luck! 🙂

I dont know why I never thought about putting my SD card in and doing it that way. It worked perfectly!
