My laptop has vertical colored lines on t he half of the screen suddenly

i restart it directly , the colored lines disappear 

i just know to ask about the cause of such problem !? 
and what should i do to prevent repeating such problems !? 
thank you for your help

Colored lines on the screen are a general sign of impending hardware failure.  It could be the screen; it could be the video chip.  Or both.

 

Connect an external monitor and see if this repeats.  IF it does not, then the screen is OK and it is the video chip that is failing.

 

If it does repeat, then the screen is failing, but the chip might be as well, as that would affect ALL displays.
