When I open my Victus 15 Windows 11 at times, the UEFI Diagnostics pop up appears and won't go. Even when I do multiple scans on system and SSD and Ram it still appears. It stopped for today because i reinstalled the app, but I'm afraid that it will come back and i dont want it at the back of my head. I have the newest BIOS update from september of 2025 and all other things are up to date. The help is very appriciated

Hi @Adrian691,

Thanks for your response.

Based on the behavior you described, this issue is usually related to firmware, startup configuration, or a background service calling the diagnostics module.

Kindly follow the troubleshooting steps below to help prevent the issue from recurring.

1.Update BIOS and Firmware

Visit the official HP Support website for your Victus 15 model.

Download and install the latest BIOS and firmware updates available.

Restart the system after installation.
Outdated BIOS versions may incorrectly trigger UEFI diagnostics.

2.Disable Fast Startup

Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do.

Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.

Uncheck Turn on fast startup, then save changes and restart.
Fast Startup can sometimes cause improper hardware initialization.

3.Check Startup Applications

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.

Go to the Startup tab and disable any non-essential or HP diagnostic-related entries.

Restart the system and observe if the issue persists.

4.Reset BIOS Settings to Default

Restart the laptop and press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS Setup.

Choose Restore Defaults or Load Setup Defaults.

Save changes and exit.
This clears any misconfigured diagnostic triggers.

5.Ensure Windows Is Fully Updated

Go to Settings > Windows Update and install all pending updates, including optional updates.

If the UEFI Diagnostics window reappears after these steps, it may indicate a firmware-level trigger that does not register as a hardware failure

Hi @Adrian691,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Does the UEFI Diagnostics pop-up appear every time you start Windows, or only intermittently?
  • When the pop-up appears, does it prevent you from using the system normally, or can you close it?
  • Did the issue begin after a specific update or change (e.g., BIOS update, Windows update, or driver installation)?

In the meantime, here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Check HP Hardware Diagnostics App Settings
    • Open the HP Hardware Diagnostics app in Windows and verify if there are any scheduled tests or startup triggers enabled.
  2. Disable Startup Entry
    • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager → Startup tab.
    • Look for “HP Hardware Diagnostics” or similar entries and disable them to prevent automatic launch.
  3. Reinstall with Cleanup
    • Uninstall the HP Hardware Diagnostics app completely.
    • Restart your laptop, then reinstall the latest version from the HP Support site.
  4. Check Event Viewer
    • Press Win + X → Event Viewer → Windows Logs → System/Application.
    • Look for repeated entries related to HP Diagnostics to see if a hardware alert is being triggered.
  5. Run Full System Test Once More
    • Even though you’ve already run scans, try a full system test (CPU, memory, SSD, battery) to confirm no hidden issues are being flagged.
  6. Windows Updates & Drivers
  • Double-check that all Windows updates and HP drivers (especially chipset and storage drivers) are installed.

I hope this helps.

The pop up appears around 5 minutes after booting the laptop. It can be "X" clicked 2-3 times then it won't close. It stopped appearing after I reimstalled diagnostics uefi completely from the HP website. From expierience I know that it will come back in few weeks or months and therefore i want to prevent it. I ran every scan and it said that my device is fine
