Hi

I recently upgraded my laptop from Win 8.1 to 10.

I have unknown device showing, based system device & PCI serial port

driver.PNG

based system device - Details - Value - PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2392&SUBSYS_162B103C&REV_30\4&A42C6B6&0&00E2

PCI Serial Port  - Details - Value - PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_1C3D&SUBSYS_162B103C&REV_04\3&B1BFB68&0&B3

unknown device - Details - Value  USB\VID_138A&PID_003C\00A0B4E9758A

Could you tell me what this is and how to make it work.

I have searched through a lot of web pages trying to solve, without success.

If you have any further info that would help me to sort. I would really appreciate it.

Thank you

Tin3

Hi:

You need these drivers for those devices in the order you see them listed in your screenshot.

The JMicron Media Card Reader Driver enables the integrated media card slot in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp64001-64500/sp64135.exe

PCI Serial Port.  I have zipped up and attached below the driver you need for that device.

I had to pull it out of the W8.1 Intel management Engine Interface driver because the driver installs both the PCI simple communications controller (Intel Management Engine Interface), and the PCI serial Port (AMT device).  Since W10 installs a newer Intel management engine driver than the W8.1 driver does, you only want to install the driver for the PCI serial port.

Download and unzip the file I attached to its folder.  Do not do anything with the files in the folder.

Go to the device manager.  Click on the PCI Serial Port needing the driver.  Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.

Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.  Then restart the PC.

Unknown Device:   You may have to manually install this driver too if the auto install doesn't work.

This package contains the driver that enables the Validity Fingerprint Sensor in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The fingerprint sensor scans fingerprints for use with biometric security applications.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp58501-59000/sp58900.exe

To manually install the fingerprint sensor driver, go to the device manager, click on the unknown device.  Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.  Select the Browse my computer for driver software option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp58900.

Make sure the include subfolders box is checked and the driver should install.  Then restart the PC.

The Generic Bluetooth device in your screenshot also needs a driver.  A lot of times the older Bluetooth devices won't work in W10.

Please post the hardware ID for that device and I will see if there is a working driver for it.
