How to activate my windows

Hi @HOPE115

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that you would like to activate, However Windows activation is automatic once you connect to the internet. If your system has a digital license embedded in the BIOS, no product key entry is required. If you reinstalled Windows or changed editions, you may need to manually enter a 25‑character product key. I would request you to please follow the steps:

Manual Activation with Product Key

  • If Windows shows “Not Activated”:
  • Open Settings → Update & Security → Activation.
  • Click Change product key.
  • Enter your 25‑character product key (from COA label, email receipt, or Microsoft Store purchase).
  • Follow on‑screen prompts; Windows will validate and activate online.

Confirm Activation

  • Go to Settings → Update & Security → Activation.
  • Status should read: “Windows is activated with a digital license” or “Windows is activated with a product key.”

Hope this helps, Please revert if the issue persists.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
