@1CrazyMike1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the webcam is not working on your computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

What is the exact model for your computer?

Meanwhile, the webcam uses are Windows built-in drivers. I recommend you follow the below steps and check if it helps.

  1. Restart your computer.

If the problem persists, continue using these steps.

  1. In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
  2. If there is no Imaging devices category listed, select Action, then Scan for hardware changes.
  3. If Device Manager does not recognize the webcam after the scan, use Microsoft System Restore to go back to a time when the webcam was working properly.

Follow the steps in the below article to perform a system restore.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

@1CrazyMike1,

No, system restore will not delete any of your personal files.

It didn't work, it just wasted a entire day of trying to get my computer to turn back on after it failed to install windows.

I don't see a phone number or a chat option, it says ask the community or find a nearby hp location.
