HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec1012no
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi

I have a HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec1012no and after checking HP's website looking for the latest BIOS I found the following

Version: F.01 Rev.A

Release date: Feb 8, 2021

File name: sp112640.exe

then

Version:F.20 Rev.A

Release date:Dec 8, 2020

File name: sp111516.exe

I'm confused. Is this a mistake? Lower revision number but newer release date and higher number in the filename.

So, which one is the newest?

Thanks in advance

@Teso79

Normally the higher number is newer. As you can see sp112640.exe is higher than  sp111516.exe

Thanks for the reply...

Then Version: F.01 Rev.A is newer than F.20 Rev.A

Correct?

Although under the ENHANCEMENTS section in the release notes it mentions
"Provides the initial BIOS release."

AND

When installing it says that "The BIOS update is not compatible with your device".
Regarding this last bit, I got the file by accessing to HP support page using my serial number.

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance.
