  • My laptop was stolen. It has windows 10, Internet Explorer and Chrome. Im not asking how to track it, but I don't know what I should do otherwise. I've changed my Google, AOL, and any other account passwords that I can think of. I don't remember if I had an account for my laptop with up, or Microsoft, or Internet Explorer. Should I do anything else? I didn't use it very much, but still, there is data. I'm not very experienced with PC's and hated windows 8-10 so I never really used it

@Atborad

You've pretty much answered your own question -- which would be to change the access on any accounts that you have information about on the PC, this includes online forums, websites, and (hopefully not) any online banking.

The thief will probably try to use any account information they find to steal from you or SPAM you.

You could report the theft to the authorities, providing them the serial number -- which will help in you getting it back if they ever retrieve it.

But, that's about it.

For your next laptop, contact Absolute Software to see about getting Lojack for it. That enables you to report a lost PC and then locate it, once it is then connected to the Internet.
