HP Pavilion - 15-cs0051wm
Microsoft Windows 11

     I am modifying the IMON Slope of my HP Pavilion CS0051wm laptop, but I cannot figure out which bin file I need to use. I have upgraded the thermal paste and cooler so that I am running 63 degrees at the 15w TDP with current (stable) undervolting. This laptop is becoming dated and it is plugged in to the wall 24/7. I want to control my temps with custom thermal limits rather than the current power limits to maintain a longer turbo clock.

     I know the bin file should match my board, but the files downloaded from hp do not match mine. I am running Insyde F.28 Rev A on my board. My board ID is 84BE. The bin file should match, but the bin file downloads are labeled 084B9.bin and 084C0.bin, along with the similarly labeled s12 files. Also, the 084C0 file is about twice the size of the 084B9 file. any help will be appreciated.

@therev47,

HP laptops store a current working bios file in efi partition on the hard drive if it has HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI installed, and you can view the current bin file from F2 Diagnostics UEFI. So, a correct update bin file should have the same ID as the stored bin file. Please see this post for more info.

If your hard drive doesn't have Diagnostics UEFI, this method doesn't work and there's another way to try so let us know how it goes.
