Hi @Souradipta,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

Are you also getting any beeps like 3 long or 2 short?

The specific blinking light pattern you described, 5 blinks followed by 3 blinks on an HP Pavilion laptop, typically indicates a BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) corruption or failure. This error code is a part of the HP BIOS beep and blink codes used for diagnostic purposes.

Here are some steps you can try to address this issue:

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Shut down the laptop, disconnect all external devices, and remove the laptop's battery (if possible). Hold the power button for about 15 seconds to perform a hard reset. Reconnect the battery and power adapter, and then try turning the laptop on again.

Recovery Flash:

  • Some HP laptops allow you to recover the BIOS using a key combination. You may check the documents below.
  • Click here for Recovering the BIOS
  • Click here for BIOS Setup Utility information

If the issue persists, and the laptop is still under warranty, it's recommended to contact HP phone support for assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
