Hi @Aarthi_dw3004ne,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The issues you’re facing—Windows Hello sign-in options being unavailable and the "some of the settings are managed by your organization" notification—suggest that your system settings may be influenced by a group policy or account restrictions. Here's a step-by-step guide to resolve these issues.
Enable Windows Hello Sign-in Options
Check Device Compatibility for Windows Hello:
- Ensure your laptop model has a fingerprint reader compatible with Windows Hello. If it doesn’t, fingerprint setup won’t work.
Verify Required Services:
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
- Look for the following services and ensure they’re running:
- Windows Biometric Service
- Credential Manager
- Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
- Right-click each, select Properties, set Startup type to Automatic, and start the service if not running.
Remove Policies Blocking Windows Hello:
- Press Win + R, type gpedit.msc, and press Enter (only available in Windows Pro editions).
- Navigate to: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Biometrics
- Ensure all settings here are set to Not Configured or Enabled.
- Navigate to: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Hello for Business
- Set Use Windows Hello for Business to Not Configured.
Check for Pending Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update, and ensure your system is fully updated.
Resolve "Some Settings Are Managed by Your Organization"
This usually occurs due to group policies, registry changes, or a connected work/school account.
A. Disconnect Work/School Accounts:
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.
- Select any listed accounts and disconnect them (if they aren’t needed).
B. Modify Group Policy Settings (Pro Versions Only):
- Press Win + R, type gpedit.msc, and press Enter.
- Navigate to: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > All Settings
- Look for any policies affecting notifications, biometrics, or Windows Hello.
- Set problematic policies to Not Configured.

C. Reset Registry Keys:
- Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
- Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System
- Delete entries related to notification settings or restrictions (if found).
D. Enable Notifications:
- Go to Settings > System > Notifications & actions.
- Toggle Get notifications from apps and other senders to On.
Troubleshoot Further If Necessary:
Run Built-in Troubleshooters:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
- Run the troubleshooters for Sign-in options and Windows Update.
Create a New Local User Account:
- Sometimes, corrupted user profiles can cause issues.
- Go to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users, and add a new user.
- Log into this account to check if the problem persists.
Use a Clean Boot:
- Disable third-party software that might be interfering:
- Press Win + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
- Under the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, and disable all others.
- Restart your PC.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hello!
I tried all your suggestions. I couldn't remove the policies blocking the windows because I have windows 11 home. I tried to resolve "some settings are managed by your organization" but like advised I have my school account connected. I am currently using them for more than a year and I fear if I disconnect all my work would be lost. Is there an alternative or how should I go about this? Please let me know. Thank you for your immediate response.
