Why has the Bios version now returned to F.86 whilst it was the newer / later F.87 ?...

Cheers,

DSteve

You are welcome, @SteveBarr.

What I was trying to explain and didn't make myself clear is, although the F.87 BIOS works, it is normally not recommended to use BIOS updates from other models.  The Software and Driver Downloads page for your model doesn't show the F.87 update.

@SteveBarr, welcome back to the forum.

The latest BIOS version available on the HP Software and Driver Downloads page is the F.86 Rev.A.  Therefore, if you upgraded from any other source it would not have installed properly.  I believe this is the answer.

Thanks o-g, but i installed the F87 bios update directly through the hp s/w & drivers page.

The supposedly current F86 update is dated prior to the F87 update.

I don't have any issues with the F87 update but was wondering why an older (F86) update is showing as the latest update ?

Cheers,

Steve.
