Hi @Jignesh_2220

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for flagging this—especially since your Victus laptop crashes when connected to a 5GHz network. That’s not just inconvenient, it’s disruptive.

Let’s walk through how to ensure your system has the correct Wi-Fi driver and configuration to support stable 5GHz connectivity.

Step-by-Step Fix for 5GHz Wi-Fi Driver Issues

1. Verify 5GHz Compatibility

First, confirm your wireless adapter supports 5GHz:

  • Open Command Prompt and run:netsh wlan show drivers
  • Look for Radio types supported. If you see 802.11a, 802.11n, or 802.11ac, your adapter supports 5GHz.

2. Update the Wireless LAN Driver

Even if you’ve updated it once, a clean install of the correct driver can resolve instability.

  • Visit the HP Victus 15-fb3000 Driver Page
  • Download and install the latest Realtek or MediaTek Wireless LAN Driver listed for Windows 11
  • After installation, restart your laptop and test the 5GHz connection

3. Set Preferred Band to 5GHz

This forces your adapter to prioritize the 5GHz band.

  • Open Device Manager > Network Adapters
  • Right-click your Wi-Fi adapter > Properties > Advanced tab
  • Locate Preferred Band or Band Selection
  • Set it to 5GHz only or Auto (5GHz preferred)
  • Click OK and reboot

4. Disable Power Saving for Wi-Fi Adapter

Power-saving features can cause disconnections or crashes.

  • In Device Manager, go to your Wi-Fi adapter’s Power Management tab
  • Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power

5. Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers

Firmware-level conflicts can trigger system crashes during network activity.

Let’s make sure your 5GHz connection is fast, stable, and crash-free.
