Hi, having multiple issues with my computer. Less than a year old, only used for music production. Wifi drivers appear to be causing BSOD. Multiple error codes rtwlane.sys and memory management issues. Used a combination of Windbg and chatgpt to find a fix.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled which appeared to work and then a graphics driver started causing issues which I then reinstalled.

I then uninstalled Bit Defender which also appeared to be causing problems and now the Wifi Driver issue is back!!

RestoreHealth and sfc Scannow are all clear.  All over hardware checks have come back clean.

Chatgpt can't make it's mind up whether I go through Realtek or HP specific drivers. Currently have Realtek RTL8852LBE wifi 6 802.11ax Pcle Adapter. Not sure which other one would be good for my laptop 14-ep0520sa.

turning the wifi off is the only way to use the music programs.

Getting fed up now. Just want to write music without the constant black screens and worry it's going to fail and lose everything I've done. I am backing up on a USB.

Any help would be vey welcome.

Hi:

If the RTL 8852BE Wi-Fi adapter doesn't have this driver version installed, see if this one resolves the problem.

6001.15.160.601

sp162860.exe

If you want to try different/better cards, I recommend either of these models:

Wi-Fi 7:

Intel BE200 M.2 2230 Wi-Fi 7 + Bluetooth 5.4 non-vPro WW WLAN module   HP part # N39883-005

Wi-Fi 6E:

Intel AX210 Wi-Fi 6E 2x2 AX + Bluetooth 5.2 M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP part # / SPS # M27269-005

Hi,

Thanks for the reply I will take a look.

So I don't need to stick with the Realtek drivers? Different ones won't cause issues?

Many Thanks.

You're very welcome.

You can only use the Realtek drivers.

I thought you were asking if there was a different model Wi-Fi card you can physically remove and replace the Realtek card with.

Hi,

It would appear this was the driver I'd already reinstalled and hasn't fixed the problem. I have new codes now!!! KERNEL_AUTO_BOOST_INVALID_LOCK_RELEASE (0x162) and some quota underflow code. Tried HP themselves but except for a hard reset and checking the system in start up mode (which it passed) they are suggesting a Windows reset. Is this my only option and will it actually solve the problem? Could bitdefender still have things lingering on my computer causing issues?

Hi:

There really isn't much you can do with the Realtek Wi-Fi adapters other than to keep the drivers updated.

I would have advised the same thing...back up your files and reinstall the OS if you don't want to take the notebook apart to replace the Wi-Fi card and see if that clears the problem.

OK thank you I'll give that a try. Thanks for the reply.

You're very welcome.

Hopefully a fresh install of the OS will resolve the problem.

I recommend that you install that driver I posted so you have the latest version from the beginning.
