HP Spectre x360 - 13-ae010ni
Hi there. This morning after working for around 10 minutes, my wifi just stopped switched off. i went through all trouble shooting steps that was recommended online, and one of them recommended that i uninstall the wireless driver. i did that but now i am trying to reinstall in but the HP website does not support Windows 11 and it is not detecting the need for any driver installation. so now i am not sure what to do from here.

Hi @Allie95,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If you're having trouble reinstalling the wireless driver on your HP Spectre x360, especially after switching to Windows 11, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:
- Use Windows Device Manager:
- Open Device Manager by pressing Windows Key + X and selecting Device Manager.
- Look for Network adapters and expand the list.
- If the wireless network adapter still appears, right-click on it and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for updated driver software. Windows will attempt to find and install the appropriate driver.
- Windows Update:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Click on Check for updates. Often, missing drivers will be identified and installed through Windows Update.
- HP Support Assistant:
- The HP Support Assistant can help find necessary drivers. It's typically pre-installed on HP laptops. You can search for "HP Support Assistant" in the Start menu and run it. Or download from: HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
- Once opened, go to "Updates" and let it search for any driver updates specific to your device.
- Download Driver from HP:
- While the website might initially show as unsupported for Windows 11, try visiting the specific product page: HP Spectre x360 - 13-ae010ni Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support
- Even if Windows 11 is not listed, download the latest driver available for Windows 10, as it is often compatible.
- Use Generic Drivers:
- If all else fails, you can manually download a generic driver from the wireless adapter manufacturer's website (like Intel, Realtek, or Broadcom) based on the hardware specifications provided by HP Device Manager.
- If all else fails, you can manually download a generic driver from the wireless adapter manufacturer's website (like Intel, Realtek, or Broadcom) based on the hardware specifications provided by HP Device Manager.
- Re-enable Wireless Adapter:
- If the adapter is disabled, open Device Manager, right-click on the Network adapter, and select Enable.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!

Thanks for replying. I have tried all steps now including multiple legacy drivers but nothing is working. When diagnosing the laptop, it shows that there are no issues but as i am showing the pictures, i am unable to connect using Wifi but the internet is working fine with an ethernet cable. So i already tried the following:
1. try to reinstall the driver again
2. reset the network
3. download the driver from the HP site (even though it is for Windows 10)
4. Downloaded what was available on Intels website as well (It does not show up after downloading it)
5. Used the HP support system (It indicates that there is something wrong with my modem but i am using the modem fine on all other devices and i am currently running an ethernet cable through the modem)
Please advise what else to try or perhaps i am doing something wrong?
