Product: ENVY x360
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

On April 1 2019, my HP started failing to open files in File Explorer. It would hang and say 'not responding'. 1 week on and this now happens every time I try to open a file. I can see everything in file explorer bu I cannot open anything. HELP????

 

I have googled the issue and found hundreds of similar threads. I have followed a dozen recommendations to repair but none of them have worked. I have scanned, searched, rebooted multiple times and still no better off.
