HP Recommended

I found a question that was older and I could not reply.  But the problem kept happening to me.  My HP Windows 10 laptop would start typing all caps and symbols, selecting multiple cells in excel, and selecting everything I typed.  Also, the num lock wouldn't work, I got all symbols instead of numbers, and the shift key would not work.  Escape didn't work, cap lock was not on, and I knew it must be something I accidentally turned on while typing, a bad keystroke.  I had to reboot to fix it several times over a couple weeks, so I needed a solution.  I finally found out it was a function key problem.  If this happens to you, try the fn key + the f8 key.  It works for me.  Find the fn key (mine is in the lower left corner of my keyboard), and hold it and type the f8 key (mine is above the number 7/& key at the very top of the keyboard.

Good luck!
