let me summarize your problem.

Your notebook came with W11 factory-installed, but the cloud recovery client only installs W10 without an option for W11, even though the HP site I posted indicates that the recovery client installs W11 23H2 or W10 on your model.

Windows Update offered upgrade to W11, but it failed to install. You also tried to upgrade to W11 through W11 Installation Assistant (in-place upgrade) without success.

You tried to clean install W11 with the media creation tool with IRST storage drivers included. You also tried a bootable usb drive with ISO file + Rufus, but neither one detected the SSD drive.

Since you still use the stock SSD, it shouldn't have any compatibility issue with W11. So, what's preventing W10 from being upgraded to W11? Possibly, BIOS has been changed that's causing the problem? You can enter F10 BIOS -> Exit (tab) -> Load Setup Default -> Save Changes and Exit. See if this does anything good.

I ran ChatGPT with a message "W10 doesn't upgrade to W11 through Windows Update." It offered some suggestions. Perhaps, you can run it and try those suggestions. If you see any errors during the W11 upgrade, you can google or use ChatGPT for troubleshooting.

That's all information and suggestions I can provide.

I ended up taking notebook to a local repair shop. The technician didn't have any new suggestions-he just went through the same troubleshooting steps already mentioned in this thread. Even so, he couldn't get Windows 11 to install. In the end, he replaced the SSD. Parts and labor came up to $130.00 plus tax. So, I guess the "free" upgrade to Windows 11 turned out to be not so free after all.
