HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 15-ee0158ng

Hello,

Ever since I upgraded from Win 10 to Win 11, I have a problem with the card reader of my HP ENVY x360 Laptop – 15-ee0158ng.

I tried installing several different drivers for it (up to a really recent one from August 2023) but no one seems to work.

With some drivers I get the typical Windows sound when plugging in a SD card, but it just doesn't show up in the Windows Explorer. I made sure that I have the newest Windows Update.

I also tried installing the recommended driver from the official HP driver homepage, but I can't select Win 11 (just Win 10) as my OS and the Win 10 driver is not compatible with Win 11.

 

Is there a fix for this or can somebody help me with this?

Hi:

 

Did you try the W11 card reader driver from the newer 15-ee1xxx model series?

That's the driver I used for my  HP ENVY x360 Laptop – 15-ee00047nr notebook currently running on W11 22H3.

 

The SD card reader works fine.

Thank you for your effort!
It seems as I can install the driver but even after a restart the driver doesn't show up in the device manager.
For me it seems as if the installation process just aborts right at the end. I guess the driver just doesn't work for me.

Sorry that driver didn't work for your notebook, and I don't understand why, since it worked for mine.
