HP Envy x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-fe0000 IDS Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

Since HP no longer supports their computers outside of hardware I had to come here. Every other day when I start the computer or restart the computer the resolution changes back to a lower resolution and I have to reset it. What causes this? Additionally the taskbar hides and despite locking it it continues to hide. My user profile in the directory of the C drive has my Microsoft ID name but not the user profile name and there seems to be no way to change this. This makes it confusing using networking and sharing. I don't understand why I pay over $1600 for a laptop and have to resort to a community forum for support for this?

Hi @RedDot666,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP Envy X360 running Windows 11. please try these troubleshooting steps that might help resolve these problems:

Graphics Driver Update: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Visit the official HP website or the device manager to download and install the latest graphics drivers for your laptop.

Resolution Settings: Check your display settings to make sure the resolution is set correctly. Right-click on the desktop, select "Display settings," and choose the recommended resolution for your display.

Taskbar Settings: Regarding the taskbar issue, try right-clicking on the taskbar, selecting "Taskbar settings," and checking if the "Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode" option is enabled. If it is, try disabling it to see if it resolves the problem.

User Profile Name: To change the user profile name, you might need to create a new user account with the desired name and transfer your files and settings to the new account. This can be done in the "Settings" app under "Accounts" and then "Family & other users."

Windows Updates: Ensure that your Windows 11 is up to date. Sometimes, issues can be resolved with the installation of the latest updates.

HP Support Assistant: Download and run HP Support Assistant if you haven't already. It's a utility that can help you keep your system updated and troubleshoot common issues.

Check for Malware: Perform a full system scan for malware using Windows Security or any reputable antivirus software. Malware can sometimes cause unexpected behavior in the system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-

Canned responses tried before OP. How about REAL support not copy/paste?
