HP Pavilion dv7-6c64nr Entertainment Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

i just recently activated my windows 7 operating system and now i can do stuff freely without having to worry about the desktop going black and windows complaining about software counterfeiting. it is a new install of windows 7 home premium x64 so there’s really nothing preinstalled except for things like internet explorer and solitaire. except when i try to connect to the internet, it says no connection available. so i go to control panel and click setup a new network. it says windows couldnt detect network hardware. i tick the box that says show connection options this computer was not setup to use, and it gives me the choice between pppoe and dialup (i have an ethernet cable, but i dont know the username or password for it. it probably wont even work anyway because windows couldnt find ethernet or wlan drivers). i go to troubleshoot and when i do any of the troubleshoot it says it cannot find the problem. i do device manager and try to install drivers for ethernet and network stuff, but windows couldnt find drivers for it (probably because there’s no internet in the first place) and my dad told me i should just plug in an ethernet and it might do something. we tried every ethernet in the house and none worked. he even dug a hole in the wall to see if it was connected right (it was). devcie manager lists the network stuff under other devices and it has an error triangle symbol on it but it has bluetooth in network devices, so pan works but wlan and ethernet is broken. i need drivers.

The parts list for your notebook indicate that it comes with an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 1030 Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapter.

HP PartSurfer

You need these Wi-Fi and Bluetooth drivers for that model Wi-Fi card:

Intel Wireless Drivers for Microsoft Windows 7

sp54841.exe

Intel PROSet Bluetooth Driver

sp54901.exe

The notebook comes with a Realtek ethernet adapter:

You need this driver for that device:

Realtek Local Area Network (LAN) Driver

sp55031.exe
