Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

When I try to install Windows 7 from a USB drive, I get the message that I must install a CD/DVD driver in order to proceed.  Where can I find that driver?  None of the drivers available from the HP website for this machine appear to be suitable.

Also, once I have the driver, is there any way to install it from a different USB drive?  I cannot get this machine to recognize any USB drives at this point in the installation process.

Thanks.

You may have 1 USB 2.0 port on right side which will work. If not you may be able to change USB 3.0 setting in BIOS from Enabled to Auto or Disabled and get them to work.

Fwiw-the driver it is asking for is actually because Win 7 does not have USB 3.0 drivers.

The video here shows how to get the intel USB 3.0 drivers.

I believe Intel does not offer the tool any longer but Gigabyte site has the files:

Hi,

Take a look at this document from Intel which shows how to insert the drivers in bootable USB drive through GUI interface or command line:

https://www.intel.com/content/dam/support/us/en/documents/mini-pcs/nuc-kits/Install-Win7-to-USB3_0-C...

Hope it helps,

David

Thanks for the response.  It worked!  According to the manual, this notebook has USB 3.0 ports only, so setting the USB 3 option in the SETUP to AUTO did the trick.

The prev;ious response, namely, changing the SETUP to have the USB ports act as USB 2.0 ports during boot, but then switching to 3.0 is a lot easier.  Thanks for replying.
