Evidently, my notebook has two disks...  Windows C is on disk 1  with only 238.47 GB of space...

Disk 2 is for Data and has 931.51 GB...

I put all my documents, pictures, etc.. onto Disk 2

But when I download a program, like a game, etc... it goes onto Windows C disk 1.    I had some updates that need to be done and could not do them because I had No free space on Disk 1.

Is there a way to install games and other things on to Disk 2 so it don't take up my disk 1 space...  Can I take stuff like games, and move them to Disk 2 and they will work, or do I have to uninstall and then how do I make sure it reinstalls to Disk 2....  this is the first laptop I have had, that was set up with 2 disks and not a lot of disk space on disk 1...  Each disk as it's own number so guessing it is 2 actual disks installed so can't partition it..

I need to clear up disk 1 so updates on my anti-virus, etc can be  updated..

thanks

The accurate answer is it depends -- on the specific game or app being installed.  Some allow you to specify a drive other than "C"; others do not.  Unfortunately, you can not MOVE an existing game or app already installed to another drive; instead, you have to remove it and then reinstall it.

You should also change all your download specs to indicate other than "C" -- this is done in each browser you use.

Here are some things you can do to recover some of the disk space:

Also, the community Win10 Forums has the following suggestions:

Finally, there is a freeware app known as Wise Disk Cleaner. I use it every day to get rid of junk files: https://www.wisecleaner.com/wise-disk-cleaner.html
