Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello. My hard drive failed and I replaced it with an SSD. Due to the nature of my hard drive failure, I could not copy over any information, and thus do not have windows on the current SSD. I did have it on my hard drive - the one that crashed - but do not have the activation key any longer (this is a six year old laptop). How could I get the activation key? I’d rather not have to spend money on windows again. Thank you.

The key should be already embedded in BIOS of your machine, machine will activate itself UNLESS you installed a different Windows yourself. You can use the following tools to find out

Okay thank you I’ll give that a go. I just know when I booted my computer up it said there was no operating system on hard disk, which from my understand would be windows.
