Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
That update error can be a real hurdle—especially when it keeps popping up without actually installing. The message you're seeing is linked to an outdated USB driver that Windows Update is trying to push, but it often fails because the driver is either already installed or not compatible with your current setup.
To resolve update errors, follow these steps:
Preliminary Steps
- Ensure Compatibility: Confirm that the update is compatible with Windows 11 and your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e printer.
- Restart Your Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve software conflicts.
Update through HP Smart App
- Install HP Smart App: Download and install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
- Check for Updates: Open the HP Smart app and go to Printer Settings. Look for firmware updates and install them through the app.
Manually Update the Driver
- Visit HP Support: Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Find Your Printer: Search for HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e and select it.
- Choose Windows 11: Select Windows 11 as your operating system.
- Download Latest Drivers: Download and install the latest drivers for your printer.
Troubleshoot the Update
Device Manager:
- Open Device Manager by pressing Windows Key + X and selecting Device Manager.
- Locate your printer under "Printers" or "Universal Serial Bus controllers".
- Right-click and select "Update driver".
- Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software".
Windows Update:
- Ensure Windows Update is up to date. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.
Uninstall and Reinstall the Printer:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
- Select your printer and click "Remove device".
- Restart your computer.
- Reinstall the printer by selecting "Add a printer or scanner".
