HP ProBook 455 15.6 inch G9 Notebook PC (4S0R3AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Wolf Security came preinstalled on this laptop.  I uninstalled it several months ago.  I am now getting a popup message saying that my license will expire in 7 days, and my 'device will be disabled' if I don't buy another license. Say what?

I didn't think it was even installed anymore.  It doesn't show up in the task manager.  It's not listed anywhere under uninstall programs; I've searched the registry and see only one entry under

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Security Center\Provider\Av\

In Settings, Windows Security, Security Providers there is no mention of HP Wolf Security, just MS Defender.

Should I be worried?

Hello Jmw9,
How is your laptop right now?
I have the same problem as well. I also uninstalled Wolf Security spick and span, and my laptop now doesn't show HP Wolf Security in Settings app, just MS Defender.
Could you provide me some information about your case after 7 days since the pop-up message? Should I be worried as you did?
Please let me know as soon as possible,
Thank you very much.

Nothing happened after 7 days.  There was no change, and the laptop is just fine.  I have no idea what the popup was intended to convey, but it isn't worded very well.

I had done a full backup, just in case I needed to rebuild the machine, but nothing happened.

Thank you very much for your response.
