It is a matter of personal choice. Microsoft will obviously tell you the Windows Defender (now called Windows Security) is adequate while the major antivirus/antimalware will tell you theirs is better. Here is a quote from the Microsoft site:

Windows Security continually scans for malware (malicious software), viruses, and security threats. In addition to this real-time protection, updates are downloaded automatically to help keep your device safe and protect it from threats.
