HP EliteBook 840 G3
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After I upgrade to window 10, I got this error message every time I restart the computer:
the program can't start because accelerometrdll.DLL is missing from your computer.

I tried the method in this message "https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Software-and-How-To-Questions/accelerometerDLL-dll-missing/td..."

But it still doesn't work for me. An new error which is  "accelerometer hardware is not present or supported on this unit." emerge.

Hi,

Open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry for HP 3D DriveGuard and select Uninstall.

When this has completed, restart the notebook.

When windows has reloaded, download and install the version of HP 3D DriveGuard on the following link.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp78001-78500/sp78033.exe

For the solution above:  Is the 3D Builder the same as the HP 3D DriveGuard ?  I have a HP laptop that is a bit different from the  unit posted on the initial thread.  Could I use the same link?  or do I need to locate the driver specific for the  laptop I have?

I've followed the steps given by the moderator, but I still get the error message.  What should I do?  Thanks!

Hi

Same problem here. We bought 20 elite book 840 g4. Updated succesfully to windows 10 creator update and all have the 3d drive guard dll error.

Please give us a solution

Hello,

I followed all the steps. After uninstalling HP 3D DriveGuard & Restarting the HP Pavillion 360 Convertable the Error Message did not appear.

But after installing the     http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp78001-78500/sp78033.exe   in fact sp78033.exe and restarting the system again the same error message is appearing.

So problem was not solved.

Let me know can I use the system without HP 3D DriveGuard ? I mean to say can we use systems with all the function after uninstalling HP 3D DriveGuard ?

Thanks

The problem resolved by itself without doing anything....I have 20 elite book 840 G4 and I noticed that after domain join and logon as domain admin user the 3d drive guard application started without problems....very strange because I don't have script or automatic installation or specified policy after domain joining....

By the way in 2 laptops were I try uninstallation and re installation of 3d drive guard, after domain join, they had accellerometerSt.dll error yet.

I saw that in these 2 notebooks in c:\windows\system32\ the accelerometerST.dll was missing.

I try to copy te orignal one from the installation folder in c:\swsetup...., that show version 6.0.19.1 last edit on 26/09/2016 but this not resolve the problem. I try to register it with regsvr32 but I received an error.

So I copied the dll from another pc that not had the error after domain join and voilà!!! Without regesitering nothing!!!!

I attached the accelerometerST.dll that resolve my problem....try to copy in your pc in C:\windows\system32

https://files.fm/u/34jtsnd9

This dll is the same version 6.0.19.1 but it has different date from the orginal 12/10/2016.

Notebooks are windows 10 professional edition x64
