HP Active Health monitors your computer to ensure the computer is running properly.

Active Health is part of the HP Support Assistant.

If the Active Health monitor is using an inordinate amount resource,

  • Uninstall the existing version of HP Support Assistant from Programs and Features
  • Restart the computer and log in
  • Download-save-install the latest version of the HP Support Assistant from the Website.

and / or

  • Check the Taskbar > Startup for evidence of the HP Support Assistant in your Startup schedule

If you have already updated the HPSA, you can control several aspects of the software in HP Support Assistant > Settings.

For example,

  • Set the  HPSA software to check for updates but not install them automatically on its own schedule.
  • You can remove the HPSA from "Choose  how you want to be notified" and remove the icon from your Taskbar.

Example - HPSA Settings

Reminder

If you switch of the Automatic Updates, do remember to run the program on occasion to check-for-updates and see any relevant information offered in the software.
