@vipul2k24, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand that your numpad stopped working after updating your HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-d4000 to the latest version of Windows 11. Let's work together to get this resolved.
Check if Num Lock is Enabled
Sometimes, the numpad is disabled simply because Num Lock is turned off.
- Press the Num Lock key once and check if the numpad starts working.
- If your laptop has an LED indicator on the Num Lock key, ensure it’s lit.
Enable Numpad via Settings
Windows 11 may disable the numpad on startup:
- Go to Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard.
- Scroll down to On-screen keyboard, access keys, and Print screen.
- Turn On the On-screen keyboard.
- When the keyboard appears, press the Options key.
- Check Turn on numeric keypad, then click OK.
- Use the Num Lock key on the on-screen keyboard to enable it.
Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand Keyboards.
- Right-click your keyboard device and choose Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop. Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.
Alternatively, you can download the latest drivers from the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics
HP provides a built-in tool to test keyboard functionality:
- Turn off the laptop.
- Press the Power button and immediately press Esc repeatedly.
- Press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
- Choose Component Tests > Keyboard Test.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to test the numpad.
Restore Previous Windows Update (if possible)
If the issue started after a specific update:
- Go to Settings > Windows Update > Update History.
- Click Uninstall updates.
- Select the most recent update and uninstall it.
If this option is grayed out, the update may be permanent. In that case, try the above driver and settings fixes first.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
