Hi @omc12,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand that you are experiencing a battery-related issue with your HP device.

To assist you effectively, could you please provide more details about the exact problem you are facing? For example:

  • Is the battery not charging?
  • Is the battery draining quickly?
  • Does the laptop only work when connected to the charger?
  • Are you receiving any battery error messages or alerts?
  • Is the battery percentage stuck at a certain level?
  • Has the battery swollen or become physically damaged?

In the meantime, we recommend running an HP Battery Test and sharing the results with us:

  1. Turn off the computer.
  2. Power it on and repeatedly tap the Esc key.
  3. From the Startup Menu, press F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  4. Select Component Tests > Power > Battery.
  5. Run the test and note the result, including any Failure ID or error message displayed.

Alternatively, if HP Hardware Diagnostics is installed within Windows:

  1. Open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows.
  2. Select Component Tests > Power > Battery.
  3. Run the test and share the outcome.

Once we have the battery test results and a detailed description of the issue, we will be happy to assist you further.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
