I recently replaced the battery in my HP Laptop 15s-fq5xxx with another genuine HP battery. After replacement, the laptop started showing CMOS 502 errors after sudden shutdowns. The battery report currently shows around 93% health and the HP Battery Test passes with a PASS ID, but it says “Calibration Required (20-7).” The laptop works normally on battery for some time, but sometimes suddenly shuts down, especially after sleep/wake or while checking battery status, and then shows the 502 error on restart. I also performed an extensive memory test which passed successfully. I have now started HP UEFI battery calibration. However, during calibration the progress stays stuck at 1% for a very long time and the estimated remaining time is not changing either. I wanted to know if this is normal during calibration with a replaced battery, and after the laptop completely powers off during calibration, how long should I wait before reconnecting the charger and turning it back on.

Please help

Jashwanth
