HP ENVY x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 15-es1000 (446V9AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Last week I purchased the HP envy x360 2-in-1 laptop, but the battery doesn't even lasts 4 and a half hours... on the website it says that it could last about 10h, I know there is always margin but this is just to much. Also the laptop makes a weird noice somethimes when I touch the keyboard.

I use this computer for school, so I need the battery to go almost a full day but after 4 hours of use (beginning from a full battery) I barely have like 30% left...

could someone pleas help me out? What should I do, just return it or is there another solution, because for the rest I'm really satisfied with the laptop.

@janaNe1

And you believed that. I don't know what many vendors do not say the true with their notebook batteries.

Regards.

to get the best battery life out of your laptop, lets optimize a few things,

1. advanced power settings, type in the search bar at the bottom (Choose a power plan)

2. you could see multiple options there. the option your looking for is battery life or low power plan right under that setting should be change plan settings once you click that should take you to another window, look for (change advanced power settings) click that

3. a pop up window will appear ( Power Options )

4. click the + on Processor power management , 2 more sub menu should be there min Processor state and max processor state, hit the + on max processor state, change the On battery set it to what ever works best for you maybe 20%, 5 is the lowest and 100 is the highest.

5. if you have the MX450 from Nvidia you can right click on your desktop, click show more , then click NVidia control panel  once you have done that click Manage 3D settings, window will pop up on the right, scroll through the window until you see Power Management Mode, click the drop down should be a couple options to choose from, look for power saving mode, or optimize for battery,

6. lower the brightness of your screen, if all that does not increase your battery life, Then go watch Linus Tech Tips on battery life and which laptop has the best bang for the battery buck! the testing they use to get the numbers are like tweaked to just sip power like 2w cpu power package type tweaks and 6w gpu power limits, the system could last up to 6-9 hours just sipping power like that for sure, but not under everyday typical use! not at all
